1. Geek+ | China (Startup Profile)

Geek+ makes robots that’ll fetch and carry stacks of goods. It’s larger bot can transport 1,000kg, while the smaller one scoots up to 100kg. They’re designed for any warehouse or factory where bits and pieces need to be moved to be accessed by human workers.


2. The News Lens | Taiwan (Startup Profile)

Started in 2013, The News Lens is considered one of the biggest independent media in Taiwan. It has now grown to six million readers across four editions of the site in Chinese and English. The team is now venturing beyond news with Every Little D which is it’s lifestyle edition.


3. Genie Financial Services | Singapore

Genie Financial Services is Singapore-based used-car marketplace Carro’s subsidiary that helps car buyers get the credit they need. The company built its own credit engine that allows it to underwrite loans in a different way than banks.


4. Xiangqi | China (Startup Profile)

Founded in 2015, Xiangqi distributes electric bikes around the city and is targeting distances up to 10 kilometers. With it’s bike-sharing app, after paying a deposit, users can locate nearby available bikes. Scanning a QR code unlocks and turns on the rental vehicle. By twisting the right handlebar, users can zoom up to 20 kilometers per hour. A full battery can last 35 to 40 kilometers. Users can also request new parking stations through the app.


5. Qlapa | Indonesia (Startup Profile)

Qlapa is a marketplace for handmade products. The startup claimed its strict curation standards it imposes on sellers which guarantee the uniqueness of items on the site, as well as its rule against reselling. The site takes a 10 percent commission from each successful sale.
